  1. You said, keeping your questions to a small pool of people who already are connected to your website or Facebook page is not the right approach.
My question is if you are trying to gain market share or just improve your customer service and Monkey Survey is not the way to go about it, then what is your suggestion on what is the right way about web-based survey tools?

    • Hi surveytool12, exactly were about does it say that i said “keeping your questions to a small pool of people who already are connected to your website or Facebook page is not the right approach.” ?

      To answer your question:
Web-Based Surveys (IS DATA COLLECTION) are broken up into Computer-Aided Interviewer administered surveys and Computer aided self-administered surveys
The right way about web based survey tools is to not D.I.Y and rather give it to marketing research online companies that specialize in digital research.
However your decision on choosing the correct path would depend on your budget. Online survey tool is an effective and relatively cheap way of reaching potential consumers or understanding the industry environment. There are many variables that need to be considered price, complexity, userfriendliness, capabilities, and support services. If a company is trying to gain market share they need to study their industry competitive environment. Knowing the leaders in the industry is imperative to your research. Once that is done you need to ask yourself the following

      1. What is your Budget?
      2. (If you set this up on your own) How many people will receive the survey?
      3. Do you know how to design and layout a survey?
      4. Do you know how many questions you need to ask to reach your objective?
      5. Will the survey be logically branched for respondents?
      6. How complex is your survey?
      7. How co-operative are the respondents?
      8. Can you stream media, graphics or animation?

Personally i would not use web based survey tools. I would develop an online community for my brand and the members of that community will stand as my panel of respondents.
